Medieval scholarship plus writings for/about the SCA

The Society for Creative Anachronism was fun, but fantasy-based. Wanting to know more, I started reading non-fiction books that became more and more scholarly. In 1992 I attended the World Congress in Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, generally ignored by the SCA. By 1998 I was writing and presenting papers there. One led to publication in the Hundred Years War book named Winner of the 2014 Verbruggen Prize for books on medieval military history.
